"My wife and I had a wonderful time last night. The show was incredible. Pure celebration mixed with introspective songs that are profoundly touching. I don’t know how Bruce excels as he does at his age. I thank you for your effort to secure these tickets for me and my wife. I applaud your work with Bruce Funds. Please let the ticket donor know their gift is deeply and sincerely appreciated."

Kicking off 2024 with Good News

Sharing the good news with the Cody family.

Nominated by Judy and Dorie. Melissa wrote: Our 4-year old daughter Trinity has special needs - she has a trache and ventilator. Dancing in the Dark is her favorite song. We play it at least 12x a day. She was hospitalized for 1 and 1/2 years before she could come home. Justin and I grew up listening to Bruce, and sadly we have never seen him live. Our 16-yr old son is named Bruce and he also loves Bruce's music. We even have a grandfather who loves Bruce Springsteen. All of us us are huge fans and our daughter is finally able enough to travel and do things, but we can't afford to attend a concert. We are a one-income household due to my 3 brain surgeries for intercranial hypertension. We would love to attend the Syracuse show that is close to home. Thank you for your consideration.

Sep 9 - Baltimore, Maryland Advocacy for Forgiveness
Sarah | 2 Tickets Donated by Robert

In their own words

I learned of Bruce Funds when you were on with Jim Rotolo before the start of the tour. It grabbed my attention because of the pay-it-forward motto you have and the closeness this brings you to your mother. The song Letter To You changed my life. In 2001 my grandmother was murdered by a friend of our family. I spent over 13 years in substance use trying to forget my anger and pain. I got clean in 2013 and began to work on myself, yet I could not let go of the pain from her loss or the rage I had toward the man who inflicted such violence. I had tried for years but could not allow myself to even say his name. In 2020, I was sitting in my car listening to E Street Radio (always) and Letter to You came on. I broke down and cried the entire song. That night, I sat down and prayed for guidance. I did as Bruce sang, I took all my fears and doubts, all my happiness and pain and dug deep in my soul. I felt the pain ease as I wrote that letter to Jimi. We now communicate weekly and have both found not only peace and forgiveness, but a true friendship. On July 20, 2023, he will be executed in Alabama. I will be attending, but not with hate in my heart. I will be the bridge between the two families, and I will be there to ease his fears as much as I can. The fears of someone I now call my friend. None of this would ever have occurred if I never heard Letter To You. I have an unshakable feeling in my soul for weeks now. I have an indescribable feeling to send this to you, and to let whatever will be, just be. Someone will find forgiveness for something or be moved to make that call to someone because they learned of this. I don't know, I just know that this feeling is far Greater than I can comprehend. Letter To You literally made me a far better woman than I could have ever imagined. When I was able to forgive Jimi, I was freed. The relationship he and I made is only because God took control. I now feel the most incredible need - for lack of better words - to see Bruce Springsteen in concert even though I have seen him before. I would love to be as close as possible, but I could never be picky about a seat if one were to come available. Every time Bruce plays the harmonica, I cry. My grandfather played the harmonica all the time. I would like to bring my daughter with me to either Baltimore or Washington, D.C. Thank you for your consideration.

*Note from Donna:
In these current times, we don't often read each word, digest the meaning of what we've read, and let it sit with us. We're often multitasking, skim-reading, we feel we already know what is being discussed, and we're simply not paying enough attention. The digital age. I've probably lost most of you by this sentence already, but I hope someone will stick around and read more. Sarah's story took hold of me when she emailed in July. Bruce Springsteen's lyrics in the song Letter to You brought her to a place in her life she prayed to go: a state of forgiveness. Her sharing of the grace and peace she has found in her friendship with Jimi, and her calling to tell others about searching for the path of forgiveness has impacted me on a personal level. Her own words above, and shared in the beautifully written articles linked below, tell it best. Just as Bruce shared his letter to us, Sarah is sharing her story. And I am grateful she's doing so. Sarah is hoping others will seek and find forgiveness in their own journey, and if you need support to find forgiveness in your life, Sarah wants to be there for you because she went through it herself.

One Mom's Request for Teenage Son
Mike & Mom | 2 Floor Seated Tickets Donated by Ryan L.

In their own words
My teenage son was frequently hospitalized in 2022 and early 2023, and we feel lucky we didn't lose him. Mike plays bass, guitar, and keyboards. He also scored an apprenticeship this summer to learn music production. Music is his therapy, his passion, his religion, his everything. Music is all he wants to do, and he is really good at it! Mike knows all the words to the songs; he’s been listening his whole life, and he finally asked me if I would take him to a show. I was hoping to buy 2 seats on the floor so he could see the screens for the solos and feel the energy, but we are so outpriced on ticket costs. The cost of my son's medical care has left us in debt that will take a long time to recover from, but our emotional debt needs the most repair. I'm writing to see if you and your supporters can help me achieve this dream for Mike to see the incredible musicianship of a Springsteen show. My hope is for him to witness the magic that is found at a show with Bruce and the E Street Band. Thank you for your consideration.

August 16 - Philly, PA
Richard & Rita | 2 Tickets
Nominated by Zac
Donated by Sharon

Zac wrote: Can we surprise and show our appreciation for this Green Beret Special Forces Vietnam Veteran who had open heart surgery and battled cancer? This 75-year-old father of 4, grandfather of 10, retains his steadfast integrity. Going strong after all these years, Richard took his kids to see all the great acts back in the day. Despite not being a big concert goer himself, Richard has always been a Springsteen fan, and he has never seen him in concert. I think it would be a great treat for a great man and his loving wife if they could attend.

May 30 - Edinburgh, Scotland
Warren & Kirsty | 2 Tickets
Donated by Jon

In their own words Warren Sr wrote: My oldest son, also named Warren, lives in Glasgow, Scotland with his soon-to-be wife, Kirsty. They are great young people and huge Springsteen fans. I was hoping to get them tickets for the Edinburgh concert, but unfortunately we just can't afford it and neither can they. I would love for them to be able to go to the concert and ask that you please keep them in mind. Again, thank you for making so many people so happy. Warren Jr wrote: This is so incredible. Kirsty is buzzing at the thought of getting to see Bruce for the first time. Being able to see him in Edinburgh would be a once in a lifetime opportunity for both of us. What an honor to even be considered for these tickets. Your thoughtfulness and generosity are truly appreciated, regardless of the outcome.

June 16 - Villa Park, Birmingham, UK
Vinnie | REQUESTING 3 Tickets for Family
Tickets donated by Nils & Amy Lofgren

In their own words I would dearly love to take my wife Michelle and our 10-year-old son Liam to see Bruce. I am a fulltime carer for my wife she has many linked illnesses including vascular disease, nerve damage, and she has also had 2 kidney transplants. We have never seen Bruce live, and recently we were told by the specialist that my wife is a "ticking time bomb and she should enjoy her life to the best of her abilities." As a fulltime carer, I get paid £69 a week from the government. There's no extra funds to buy concert tickets at all. Thank you for your consideration. UPDATE: Vinnie and his family were unable to attend due to a family matter; the tickets were returned to Guest Ticketing.

June 28 - Gothenburg, Sweden
Clara | REQUESTING 2 FOS Tickets
Tickets donated by Steven Van Zandt, Maureen Van Zandt, and TeachRock.org
In their own words

My name’s Clara, and I’ve been a fan of Bruce Springsteen for as long as I can remember! My mom was a big fan and played his albums growing up. He and Patti both played a huge part in me picking up the guitar, and I now work as a Music Art teacher. I was born 3.5 months premature and I’m adopted and when they got me to Sweden they found out I have an eye disease called Retinopathy of prematurity (ROP or Terry Syndrome) and after 13+ eye surgeries (did 7 eye surgeries within my first year) I’m left with 0.30% eyesight on my right eye and total blindness on my left eye and with the help of custom glasses and a contact lens, I’m able to see 0.30% and without I can barely see my hand in front of me or tell light from darkness. Since 2018, I’ve been having lots of eye infections, and I also got chronic blepharitis added on top of it, the last 18 months my vision has decreased 10% which means now I’ve only 0.20% eyesight. There is nothing that can be done unfortunately. When I attend a concert, I have to watch the show through my phone (I use the camera to zoom in and try to see). And rely on my hearing when I’m not able to see. Unfortunately, the special needs seating at most venues do not take vision into consideration. The seating sections are far away and not helpful for me. I did everything I could to get FOS/Premium tickets for the Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band's last show on June 28th, but I had no luck. It would mean the world to me if me and my best friend Chrissy could get FOS tickets for the last show. This might be my chance to see Bruce and the E Street Band a little better. I have done the PIT process before, and I am fully capable.

August 24 - FOXBORO, MA
Jessica | 2 Tickets DONATED BY KRISTA
In their own words

I am nominating myself and my 14-year old daughter, Liorah, for donated tickets (2) for the Boston Springsteen show. Liorah and I have been through a lot and I would love to share this once in a lifetime experience with her. I have been a fan of the Boss and his music since I was a child although I ever imagined actually seeing him live. Neither of us have ever been able to attend a Springsteen show and I thought we never would until I heard about Bruce Funds (what a fantastic idea!) I want to tell you a little us. I have a 27-year son who is solidly autistic. He is a wonderful son but will need lifelong care from me and then. probably, from his sister, Liorah, when I am no longer able. He is not able to maneuver social situations and struggles to be in the community. Having a child with special needs, while rewarding, is also exhausting for the caretaker and stressful for siblings like Liorah. The height of the COVID pandemic and the return to school was also incredibly difficult for Liorah, in addition to being the sibling of someone who needs daily care. She became anxious and depressed when she returned to school in the 7th grade after attending school remotely. On the worst days, I fell apart, fearing that I could lose her to suicide or something else. Picture PictureThese were very dark days for us. However, we persevered through it and have come out the other side. Liorah is dyslexic but has developed incredible coping skills. The one positive outcome of the Covid isolation is that she spent hours reading. She went from not being able to read at all in the lower grades of elementary school to now reading at a 12th grade level while she is in the 8th grade. She is very proud of being able to achieve this and now constantly strives to achieve more. I am currently going through a very difficult divorce with Liorah's father, on top of our regular struggles. Some days, it seems like I will never get through this to make a healthy and happy home for myself and my children. I would love to share the Springsteen experience with my amazing daughter, which would otherwise be completely out of our financial ability to afford on our own, particularly given our current circumstances. To share such an experience with my child and leave our daily struggles behind, albeit just for a few hours, would be the experience of a lifetime for both of us. Thank you for your kind consideration.

April 11 - USB Arena, NY
Gary & Cecilia | 2 TICKETS DONATED BY DEIDRE

In Cecilia's words Diagnosed with lung cancer in May 2022, Gary is hanging in there. Gary is being treated at Memorial Sloan Kettering, New York, and he had been hoping to see Bruce in concert again. Gary is a resident of Long Island, New York. The diagnosis is frustrating because he isn't a smoker, and Gary's lack of strength doesn’t allow him to negotiate the technology of the ticketing system, and I haven’t been able to acquire tickets. Gary lost many family and friends during Covid, and as a result, he is somewhat isolated. I engaged him about Bruce. He first saw Bruce in 1978 and said “he changed my life.” Gary’s own writing, and playing of the guitar was influenced by Bruce. Gary introduced me to Bruce, and we saw concerts throughout the 80s, 90s and 2000s.

April 9 - UBS Arena, NY
Vincent | 2 TICKETS DONATED ANONYMOUSLY

Vincent is the founder of a charity called Smile I Can't See. He gives guitars to children and in just 2 years they've gifted close to 200. As a musician who gives back to his community, Vincent is an ideal candidate to see his first Springsteen concert.

Kyle | 1 TICKET DONATED ANONYMOUSLY
In their own words

On 11/9/2020, I was hit by a motorcycle. I was a Level I trauma. I had multiple fractures and multiple life saving interventions. I made it out the other side. I should have died, but for some reason I'm still here. Just so you are aware, I'm a runner and was running and had the green light and was in the crosswalk and the guy ran the light and hit me. It has been a long climb back, but I'm back and even running again (no street running, only running path).

April 9 - UBS Arena , NY
Conn & Janice | 2 TICKETS DONATED ANONYMOUSLY
In their own words

A friend told me about your community, and I am writing to request consideration of gifted tickets for my son Conn who is 17 years old and a fantastic drummer. He was accepted into his high school's music program after auditioning. He has had a really hard time in the past 3 years. We lost our apartment when I lost my job due to Covid pandemic and ended up in a family shelter for 2 years. My husband is disabled through 2 strokes, and although we have government-assisted housing now in the Bronx, remote school has put Conn behind on subjects and he is so depressed not to be graduating on schedule through no fault of his own. "It’s so hard to explain what an experience a Bruce concert is unless you have had the joy of being part of it." Last summer I thought a dream came true when we were front and center for the Central Park concert until it was got rained out and our hearts were broken. My son's face was sad and he said "oh well another disappointment." Then to cheer me up he started singing land and hope and dreams with me as we walked out of the park crying as the rain fell on us. He is such a good kid I can’t even explain it, he is kind and loving even after all our disappointments. I and my husband had the pleasure of seeing Bruce a few times years ago and told Conn he would see him too, but I am unable to make this dream come true. We would love to go together, but Conn going is the most important thing. I would bring him and wait to take take him home after. He needs some good news in his life and this would be just that. So if there is any way, any way including working for the person who has an extra ticket in trade I am open for it. Let me know if there is some way I promise that I would do it for my son to see Bruce. God Bless and thank you for your time.

April 14- Newark, NJ
Terrance | 2 TICKETS DONATED BY JOE H.

Terrance is a young fan who lives in North Jersey, and he would love to see his first Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band show. He admires Mighty Max, and you can find his drumming videos on social media which are getting rave reviews (as long as Sony music lets them stay up!). Check them out for yourself: Terrance's Instagram. https://instagram.com/75snares

September 3 - MetLife, NJ
Valerie | 2 TICKETS DONATED BY MARY & DINA
In their own words

Been a loyal fan since age 15. I'm 59 now and had the worst 3 years of my life. Every aspect of my life was shattered and I'm still trying to put my life back together. I'm a disabled gal (diagnosed Treatment-resistant Depression and domestic violence PTSD) and have lived in Monmouth County my entire life. I got hired part-time as a Unit Secretary at Jersey Shore Hospital before Covid hit, and I saw heroic staff tending to their patients bravely. I saw young people in the Covid hospice unit at death's door and their appearance haunts me still. I had to quit due to the multitude of unsolvable dilemmas, and I became suicidal at one point but I went inpatient and got better somewhat. One of my fav songs is Point Blank. The music is haunting and moody. I haven't seen my hero and his band since Meadowlands 1985, but saw No Nukes age 15 with my high school gal pals. It was the night he turned 30 and threw his birthday cake back at the crowd in front. He was on fire! Also it was the night Clarence wore the white suit not the red one! The Metlife shows are around my 60th birthday! I'd love to be there!
