Donating tickets was a concept that came 100% from the community. Usually the tickets that are gifted to Bruce Funds are extras that people cannot use or, in some cases, extra tickets purchased specifically to donate to fans who cannot afford the cost.
Bruce Funds applauds the generosity and welcomes the donations. However, due to the 100% volunteer nature of this process, some guidelines have been set for ticket donations.
Bruce Funds does not buy or sell tickets. Donation means no cost to the recipient and no cost to me. If you're looking for any amount of money for your ticket (even a beer at the venue), then you are not donating it. Backstreets has an incredibly well-established forum for ticket sellers; please post your ticket for face-value sale there if you do not wish to donate it to Bruce Funds.
Recipients and donors are encouraged to report back if there are any difficulties, including but not exclusive to: a) donors asking for money b) donors or recipients making delivery difficult c) rude or inappropriate remarks about needing a ticket.
Bruce Funds #1 priority is to help fans who cannot afford to attend a single Springsteen show. Bruce Funds makes every effort to find these types of fans first. The less time given to place the tickets, the less time I have to be sure we're helping the right fans. So give me as much time as you can to vet the right recipient.
As a Bruce Funds ticket donor, by filling out this form, you agree to the following: You will (a) ship hard tickets via express or priority mail if the concert is less than 7 days away or (b) hand-deliver tickets to selected recipient. (c) If circumstances change regarding the status of you tickets, you will inform Bruce Funds. And (d) if you wish to remain anonymous, you will inform Bruce Funds below.
I prefer PayPal. It's international. If you really do not want to use PayPal, I wonder why? I urge you to consider joining the 21st century. Alternatively, I do not accept personal checks, but you may contact me for a postal address to send a bank check or money order.
Although I liked other online crowdfund-raising options in the early days, those apps would take 15-30 days to transfer to the PayPal account. That’s a lot of extra transaction time and fees, and I need as many pennies as possible going to fans. Reliability and ease of use for me, you, and the recipient. The PayPal funds transfer:
NOTE Paypal fees vary between 2.9 and 5.0% depending upon your type of transaction and account. Please keep that in mind for each Bruce Fund gift you’re making so that your donation can go further toward helping your fellow fans.
Your donation is not tax-deductible and Bruce Funds does not have charity status. Bruce Funds is a community that grew as the result of one person's efforts who still remains the sole individual for all final decisions and responsibilities at Bruce Funds. However, that doesn't mean your opinion, ideas, and suggestions aren't wanted. The community cannot exist without everyone's participation, so absolutely - please be involved.
